Photographing 10,000 Birds:

A Lifetime Adventure

My Life Story:

100 Birds at a time

JAke Watching Birds is an autobiographical journal centered around my quest to photograph 10,000 of the world’s bird species, something that's never been done before.

I have an insatiable urge for adventure and the unknown.

I’ve been stalked by a polar bear while photographing.
I quit a job making six figures in six months, because God told me to.
I drove to Alaska with $1000 and a dream.
I’ve jumped out of a plane to open my spirit and feel what it’s like to fly, and I got two tattoos in Tijuana on my 28th birthday, just because I thought it sounded cool.

searching the world for new birds is the only way I feel alive.

Every bird is a new adventure, another reason to live, another reason to wake up, another reason to come on.
